Lorient | Naval Group livre la 1ere corvette Gowind®2500

Naval Group est fier d’avoir livré vendredi 22 septembre 2017 sa premiere corvette Gowind® 2500 à la Marine égyptienne. La cérémonie s’est déroulée à Lorient en présence de l’Amiral Ahmed Khaled, commandant en chef de la marine égyptienne, d’Hervé Guillou, Président-Directeur général de Naval Group et de hautes autorités de la Marine nationale et de la Direction générale de l’Armement. Ce navire, deja commandé à dix exemplaires à ce jour, vient compléter la gamme étendue de navires et sous-marins du groupe.

The Egyptian Navy chose Naval Group to design and build four Gowind® 2500 corvettes with a construction technology transfer. The contract, which entered into force in July 2015, provides for the construction of the first ship within 29 months. It is now being built by Naval Group in Lorient. The three following units will be built by Egyptian partner Alexandria Shipyard.
Naval Group has sent supervision and technical assistance teams to Alexandria for the construction of three corvettes through technology transfer. Naval Group also provides training of the Egyptian shipyard staff at Naval Group site in Lorient. Finally, Naval Group will deliver all technical data required for the construction of the corvettes as well as necessary components.
The Gowind® 2500 corvette chosen by the Egyptian Navy is a first rank ship with a displacement of 2,500 tonnes; it incorporates the SETIS® multi-mission combat management system developed by Naval Group.
